HOW TO STAY MOTIVATED AND PRODUCTIVE
Most of us have had to adapt and learn new ways to work over the last month. It can be tricky at times to stay motivated and productive. Here are some pointers to hopefully help you:
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU:
Have a think about what actually motivates you. Maybe its learning new things, or the feeling of achievement you get when you complete something. Think about what makes you feel good. Try and keep as optimistic and positive as you can. Start your tasks immediately – don’t make excuses and waste time.
Everyone likes to be rewarded, and there’s no reason why you can’t reward yourself (or your team). It doesn’t have to be huge rewards, maybe a takeaway, have extra time off in your break, watch your favourite movie, find time to phone a friend.
Some people find that having a routine helps. Not only does it make the day go quicker it also allows you to keep on track with your work.
MAKE A PLAN:
Make a plan of your work. Break it down into steps, create a to do list and set deadlines. Keep things manageable. Make your dream a reality.
When setting goals, don’t forget to set a few smaller ones; that way you have something to work towards while achieving smaller goals along the way. This should keep you motivated to keep going.
Look at the area where you’re working. Try to unclutter your work environment as much as you can, this should make you work more efficiently and productively. Don’t forget to organise your work too!
Not everyone is good at multitasking. It is best (if you can) to put all your attention into one thing and do it well. Also don’t get distracted, if you need to mute your phone for a while or turn your emails off to get some work done then do so.
DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU:
At Cubo we are big believers in this, it’s one of our mottos. Do you prefer to dress up for work, or dress down? Sit with your dog? Work at a sofa or a desk? That’s why we have many different areas for people to sit and work, whether it be a sofa, bean bag, desk etc. you’ve got to do what works for you. This will allow you to work at your best ability, being comfortable in your environment is key.
Success – live it, breath it, be it! Keep positive and believe in yourself and your own success!
